Why do my smartphone photos look sideways on my computer?
Smartphones store camera orientation as EXIF metadata tags instead of permanently rotating the pixel grid. Some software ignores EXIF orientation. Applying a 90° rotation with our tool permanently re-encodes the pixel matrix so it looks right on all devices.
Will rotating my image reduce quality?
For 90°, 180°, and 270° rotations, the pixel values are simply rearranged with zero interpolation loss. For arbitrary angles (e.g. 15°), our tool uses bicubic canvas antialiasing to ensure edge lines stay sharp and crisp.
How are empty corners filled when rotating at custom angles?
When saving as PNG or WebP, empty corners remain 100% transparent. If you select JPG, you can choose any background fill color using the built-in color picker.
Does rotating an image crop any outer corners or edges?
No. Our Image Rotator automatically recalculates the outer bounding box dimensions using trigonometric formulas (w * cosA + h * sinA) so that no part of your photo is clipped or cut off during rotation.
