Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need to break down the tasks?
Humans are bad at estimating large tasks (e.g., "Make a Coat"). We are much better at estimating small ones (e.g., "Sew Sleeves: 2 hours"). Breaking it down gives you a much more accurate total.
Does this account for drying time?
This calculator measures "Active Work Time". If you have a process that requires waiting (like glue drying or fabric pre-washing), you should manually add those days to your start date.
What if I work different hours on different days?
This tool uses an average. If you work 1 hour on weekdays and 5 hours on Saturdays, enter an average (e.g., 2 hours/day) to get a close estimate.
