Frequently Asked Questions
What are Lignes (L)?
Lignes are the traditional unit for measuring button sizes. 40 Lignes equals 1 inch (25.4mm). This converter makes it easy to switch between them.
How does the "Thread Weight" conversion work?
Tex (grams per 1000m) and Denier (grams per 9000m) are direct conversions. The "wt" (Weight) number is an industry *approximation* and can vary by manufacturer, but this provides a good estimate.
How does the Pixel (px) conversion work?
Pixel conversions depend on the screen or print resolution, measured in DPI (Dots Per Inch). We've included a DPI setting which defaults to 96 (for web) but you can change it to 300 for high-resolution printing.
