Frequently Asked Questions

What is "SS" in rhinestones?

SS stands for "Stone Size". It is the standard unit for round crystals. For example, SS20 is approx 4.8mm and SS30 is approx 6.5mm. This tool converts them automatically.

How does the spacing affect the count?

Spacing makes a huge difference. A "Tight" packing (honeycomb) uses significantly more stones than a "Grid" or "Loose" layout. We use a standard grid calculation with a small gap buffer for realistic results.

Should I buy exactly this amount?

We always recommend buying 10% extra. Beads can be faulty, dropped, or lost during application. The calculator result is the *mathematical* minimum to cover the area.
