The math for circle skirts can be tricky. Use this tool to instantly calculate the radius you need to cut for your waistline, and exactly how much fabric you need to buy.

1. Choose Units

Measure where you want the skirt band to sit.

From waist to hem.

We'll warn you if the skirt is too wide for your fabric.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to add ease to my waist measurement?

If the skirt will have a zipper/button, enter your exact waist measurement (ease is usually negligible for the radius). If it is an elastic waist, measure your *hips* (so you can pull it up) and use that number instead.

What is the "Radius"?

The radius is the distance from the very center point of your fabric circle to the edge of the waist hole. You tape your measuring tape at the corner (0) and mark this distance to draw the curve.

Does this include hem allowance?

No. You should add your desired hem allowance (usually 1-2cm) to the "Skirt Length" you enter, or just add it when you cut.
